test track

a day of this proved to be a good test track for the pinner/bonzer......stoked with the result.

waiting for the wind to switch

finished this one last week and hoping to surf it today. always looking for my ultimate travel bonzer. this one's pretty wide and holds some width to the back of the fins where there's a major redirect to a little soft pin. idea was to keep the rails a bit parallel in the mid section for paddle and drive but not have too much in the tail to get hung up in hollower waves. an update on the "pinner" i made awhile back. we'll see how she goes.

big belly for danny

big bellyfish for cold water comfort. a splash of color gloss and polished on the bottom with a hand rubbed brick deck. this one flowed from start to finish and oughta do the same in the water. enjoy.

5'7 for sale

this one's based on the bellyfish template, but going a bit shorter, i made it wider and a hair thicker. it's got some vee flowing into the channels through the fins and rocker. oughta be a fun everyday board.

hippy hippy shake!

just something i've been wanting to make for awhile. inspired by all the photos and film i've been seeing of the "evolution" period in Australia, 1969 and just beyond. thinking wayne lynch, keyo, mctavish, cundith and greenough.
so here we go. wide point back with some exaggerated hips falling between the front and back foot. very wide tail and a double ender in that the nose and tail measure the same, although they have very different curves to get there. lots of belly up front going to a good bit of vee with slight concave by the fin, a big greenough 4a, of course. wide, thin and soft. built for my local beachbreak, itching to see how it goes.

6'4 single

i really like this one. it's begging for a clean little beachbreak. soft entry going to slight vee with a faint concave by the fin. the deck's got a super pale blue haze and a hand rubbed wetsand finish.

back in the shack!

i've devoted a lot of time lately to building a new camper for my truck. itching to make a few boards, shaped the first, and it sure feels good!
