one of the few rainy days i had in nz, i shot these photos on the way to a rivermouth at the end of a long winding road. i love the farm with the windmill and boat in the paddock.

i've been back awhile from my nz trip and am finally organizing a few photos. here's a photo of my departure day in carolina, my home in new zed, and one of my first surfs of the trip on the lunch tray hull.

8'5 mini-log for me

i made this mini late summer and it's seen plenty of water time. this is the evolution of the little big man/funky beast i made a few years ago. that one took some getting used to but i had a lot of fun on it and it taught me a few things! this one's a bit thinner, wider, more pinch in the rails and alot more sensitive. surfed it alot in less than perfect conditions and a few bigger days. later drops and rippin' cutbacks for a bigger board and it held on the nose to boot. long deep concave, stepdeck nose, volan bottom and knee patch. polished fabric inlays and hand rubbed on the rest. 9" rusty single.

flat deck, flat finish, volan bottom and tail patch, plenty of volume and a bit pulled in the nose and tail. begging for a good ranch day.

new zealand in the new year!

going to new zealand for a couple of months in february. anybody have some info for me? anywhere i might shape a couple of boards? good places to camp and surf? so stoked!
